Job Summary
The Department of Radiology is recruiting a fellowship-trained neuroradiologist to join our team of 19 faculty at either the Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor or Professor level.

Our growing and diverse practice has the breadth, depth and scale for faculty at any career stage and with general or specialized interests anywhere along the spectrum from clinician-educator to clinician-scientist. We emphasize mentorship, career and leadership development.

The Neuroradiology Division performs and interprets the full gamut of diagnostic examinations and procedures, including CT, MRI, myelography, lumbar punctures, and biopsies in the outpatient, inpatient and ER settings. A subset of faculty performs diagnostic catheter-based angiograms. The neurointerventional radiology team is based in the Division, and is composed of three radiologists and two neurosurgeons. Our training programs include 6 neuroradiology fellows, a second year neuroradiology fellow, and a neurointerventional radiology fellow.

The Department has the latest hardware and software capabilities for all aspects of anatomic, physiologic and metabolic imaging. We operate 14 MR scanners, including an intraoperative unit, 3T, 1.5T and open 1T units, 18 CT scanners including among them GE Revolution CT, HD 750 scanners, Siemens Force, a portable scanner for the neuro ICU, and a dental scanner. Our 3 neuroangiographic suites include a CT biplane angiographic unit, a biplane angiographic unit and a multipurpose single plane angiographic unit.

Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include patient care, teaching a spectrum of learners (medical students, residents, fellows and ourselves too), and establishment of an independent clinical, translational and/or basic research program. We have many ongoing research programs within the Department, including close collaboration with our own Basic Sciences Division, and with colleagues across Michigan Medicine and the University of Michigan campus. The University of Michigan Medical School has the largest group of health services researchers in the United States at our Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation, and an excellent Faculty Development Program.

Neuroradiology faculty enjoy close relationships with many disciplines, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, and Radiation Oncology. These collaborations provide a stimulating collegial atmosphere with more than 20 interdisciplinary conferences each week, including teaching conferences, tumor boards and clinical working conferences. We strive to be the leaders and best in pursuit of excellence in clinical care, research and education.

Required Qualifications*
M.D. or equivalent, ABR-certified, has passed the core examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency, with ACGME-accredited fellowship training in neuroradiology, and the ability to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and documentation of scholarly ability and achievement (record of publications in peer-reviewed journals) is required. The preferred candidate will also possess the critical elements of teaching (knowledge of subject matter, skill in presentation, enthusiastic approach, etc.). Candidates with two year fellowships will be given preference, although this is not mandatory.
