What We Are Looking For

The Accommodation Specialist specifically supports the mission of Baylor University by working with students, faculty, and staff to ensure that academic accommodations are implemented, allowing access to all programs, providing support to students with disabilities through mentoring and teaching, and appropriating academic accommodations. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities and support services. The primary goal is to create an inclusive and accessible learning environment that accommodates the diverse needs of students.

A Masters Degree and an active Christian faith are required. Three years of relevant work experience are preferred.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Provide support to students with disabilities.
  • Evaluate disability documentation and assess individual accommodation needs.
  • Work with students to develop and implement accommodation plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in understanding their rights and responsibilities related to accommodations.
  • Coordinate with departments on campus to facilitate access and accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure accessibility needs are met.
  • Attend conferences and workshops to stay abreast of upcoming issues and trends in higher education and disability services.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
