Overview

New York Institute of Technology's Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences has undergraduate programs in Biology, Chemistry, and Biotechnology at the New York City and Long Island campuses. This position will be based at the Long Island (Old Westbury) campus. New York Tech emphasizes interdisciplinary scholarship, research, and teaching. Department faculty research interests are diverse, including medicinal and organic chemistry, neuroscience, cell and molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, computational chemistry, and analytical chemistry. Faculty in the Department have ample opportunity to collaborate with faculty at the New York Tech's College of Engineering and Computer Sciences and New York Tech's College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Responsibilities
The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences at the New York Institute of Technology seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to develop a research program in the broadly defined fields bioinformatics or computational biology that complements existing research programs and carries potential to establish external collaborations. The successful candidate will teach introductory and advanced lecture and laboratory courses in the biological sciences at the undergraduate level.
Qualifications
A relevant PhD or equivalent terminal degree, postdoctoral experience, and a record of scholarly publications and productivity. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education, and a dedication to innovative and effective teaching that prepares a diverse student body for future success. Candidates should also exhibit a strong potential to attract external funding for their research.
