Assistant Director, Honors Program, University of Nevada, Reno


The Assistant Director, Honors Program, assists the Director in the operation and management of the Honors Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Responsibilities include teaching Honors first year seminars and other courses as needed; engaging students in service learning and community activities; managing the service-based Honors Bonner Leader Program; recruiting students to the Honors Program and assisting in the admissions process; promoting national fellowships and scholarships and coaching prospective candidates in the application process; contributing to advisement and retention processes; coordinating special activities and events; and overseeing the Honors Ambassadors. The individual must have an interest in and a commitment to Honors education. The position reports to the Director, Honors Program.



Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years or a Master's Degree and three years of related work experience directly working with high achieving students at the university level, and includes teaching at the university level, involvement Honors education and familiarity with national fellowship and scholarship programs.



Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. Preferred. One year of related work experience directly working with high achieving students at the university level, teaching experience at the University level, Honors experience, and familiarity with nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships.
