Job Summary:

Overall Description of Responsibility or Nature of Work

This is an Assistant Professor position in the division of Endocrinology. The primary responsibilities are inpatient glucose management (GMT) and outpatient care for patients with all types of endocrine disorders. Other responsibilities would include teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. There is an expectation of scholarly activity.

This is a 0.85 FTE position. Your duties in this faculty position will include:

50% - GMT responsibilities:

The Glucose Management portion of this position will consist of 0.5 FTE on GMT (2 days per week) including weekends, with at least 1 weekend within a 1 month period, but could be increased if preferred by the applicant. Additionally, will provide split coverage for official holidays is expected.

25% – Outpatient clinic responsibilities:

Two (four-hour) half-day Endocrinology clinics a week.

10% – LInQS Fellowship

Teaching:
  • Teaching of medical students, residents and fellow in inpatient/outpatient settings

Scholarly activity:
  • Attendance at conferences within the Division and Department
  • QA/QI projects

Required Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Prior fellowship training in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO. The inpatient Glucose Management Team duties will occur at the Anschutz Medical Campus University of Colorado Hospital. Clinics will be at the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • MD/DO board certified or eligible in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Applicants should be enthusiastic about a career in academic medicine with a strong interest in providing excellent clinical care in the outpatient and inpatient setting. There should be a desire for teaching and writing and an interest in opportunities in clinical research.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$160,000.00 (adjusted for .85 FTE).

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
