Assistant Professor of Social Work/Director of BSW Program

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary: Colorado Mesa University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Social Work/Director of BSW Program. This position provides leadership to the BSW program including the overall direction and management of the BSW program, administration, and oversight of accreditation. As a faculty member in the department, this position is also responsible for student advising, service, teaching, and scholarship. The standard teaching load for this position is nine credit hours per semester and will include teaching across the curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration of the BSW program which includes the following:

Program, personnel, and budget management;

Curriculum oversight and course sequencing/scheduling;

Leadership and collaboration;

Maintain accreditation.

Teaching required courses within the BSW program, and electives based on candidate's expertise. The standard teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester.

Scholarship in the discipline, student advising, and service to the department and profession are expected.

The ability to teach in-person, hybrid, and online modalities.

Minimum Qualifications: A MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, with two years post-MSW practice required, college teaching experience, and commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and advising students.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a DSW or PhD/ABD and five years practice experience, and/or an LCSW. CSWE accreditation experience; teaching interests in social justice, diversity, and anti-oppressive practice; and experience as a program director of a CSWE accredited program are also preferred.
