Job Summary:
Location: Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck and the Campus at Florham in Madison (in-person classes)

Summary of Position: The Associate/Full Professor and Director of QUEST/Post-Bac Program is 12-month tenure-track position in the School of Education at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The successful candidate will have a broad background in education, and is responsible for teaching in-person undergraduate and graduate courses in the QUEST/Post-Bac Program for 50% of load and functioning in an administrative capacity for 50% of load. The QUEST program is an accelerated 5-year combined BA/MAT program and is designed for undergraduates who wish to obtain New Jersey certification in early childhood and special education, elementary and special education, ESL, or secondary education (with the option of dual certification with special education). Additional dual certification pathways leading to early childhood, elementary, and secondary education with ESL are also available. The Post-Bac program is designed for graduate students who wish to obtain a New Jersey certification. Pathways for both traditional and alternate route are available. A broad background in education, including P-12 teaching experience, with an emphasis on equity in education is required.

Responsibilities:
1.Teach half-time, with a focus on classes in the QUEST and Post-Bac program.
2.Coordinate the QUEST and Post-Bac programs, including BA/MAT, post-baccalaureate, traditional, and alternate route programs.
Monitor progress of candidates with state-mandated benchmarks (praxis exams, gpa, etc.)
Maintain compliance with NJDOE code and regulations
Monitor progress for GPA and licensure exams (Praxis Core Academic and Praxis II exams)
Oversee CAEP Key Task Data collection for initial licensure programs, in collaboration with Assessment Coordinator
Oversee faculty advising within QUEST/Post-Bac programs; advise and mentor QUEST/Post-Bac students; support QUEST and Post-Bac students as they encounter difficulties
Support part-time faculty within QUEST/Post-Bac programs, including
Take point on admissions for Post-Bac programs
3. Taking point on implementing programs resulting from collaboration between SOE and Hispanic Center

4. Contribute to the national visibility and impact of School of Education by conducting research, publishing in peer reviewed journals, and presenting at state and national conferences.

5.Develop ongoing relationships with subject matter departments (majors) at the university.

6.Develop ongoing relationships with school districts and community organizations.

Required Qualifications:
1. An earned doctorate in education or related field (e.g., early childhood, literacy, elementary education, secondary education, urban education, special education).
2. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in culturally and linguistically diverse and inclusive P-12 schools.
3. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching in undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs.
4. Demonstrated leadership within teacher education programs.
5. Familiarity with or understanding of Learning for Justice Social Justice Standards.
6. Familiarity with CAEP/AAQEP Accreditation.
7. Eligible for rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Strong background in pre-service teacher preparation
2. Practical experience deconstructing exclusionary systems and practices in favor of culturally affirming and inclusive reforms.
3. Practical experience with the areas in the context of racially/ethnically diverse schools and with English language learners. Elementary, early childhood or secondary teaching certifications.
4. Experience using digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning, including teaching courses online.
5. Practical experience coaching educators to provide inclusive pedagogy, curriculum, and decision-making.
