Job Summary:

The Communications, Services & Projects Facilitator is a new position and serves as a vital contributor to the Offices for the Faculty Experience (OFE). This position supports a cross-office team in the development, management, delivery, and communication of current and new initiatives in the School of Medicine (SOM). The Communications, Services & Projects Facilitator is exceptionally skilled in "quick learning," has a consistently accurate understanding of these newly learned areas, and then uses their advanced skills in coordinating and communicating about these areas in which they are not an expert. The Communications, Services & Projects Facilitator is inclusive and attentive to details, "a can-do go-getter," and service and outcome-focused. The Communications, Services & Projects Facilitator is skilled at working across both communications and diverse operational functions, independently, and in collaboration with diverse stakeholders to fulfill OFE goals and objectives.

OFE resides in the Dean's Office in the School of Medicine on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The OFE team is growing and includes the Office for Faculty Affairs, the Office for Faculty Development, the Office for Faculty Relations, and the School of Medicine's Faculty Work & Culture Optimization Collaborative for well-being.

The Communications, Services & Projects Facilitator has a unique cross-functional skill set and is exceptional across many areas of communications and is skilled at moving between cross-functional project management and providing operational support and services. The Communications, Services & Projects Facilitator supports, develops, manages, coordinates, and delivers a variety of projects, services, and initiatives, taking care of "every day" operational, business, and administrative needs, as well as more complex initiatives for OFE. The person hired into this new role is excited to contribute their unique combination of skills to a new unit in the SOM Dean's Office. This new hire will enjoy fostering a welcoming, communicative, and service-focused environment and holding oneself accountable for delivering exceptional outcomes for the OFE team.

Key Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Communications (~60% of time)
  • Manages, develops, coordinates, and delivers diverse communications across OFE and the SOM, including webpages, social media, e-newsletters, technical user guides and e-resources, campaigns, promotions, program marketing, stakeholder engagement initiatives, presentation materials, visual communications, data representations, videos, storytelling and narrative-building initiatives, fact summaries, annual and other reports – among others, depending on the communication needs of the OFE team.
  • Coordinates with the team, and launches, manages, and aligns branding, webpages, and a variety of other communications across OFE.
  • Listens, understands, and then develops narratives, engaging stories, faculty and program guides/directions/process communications, and other stakeholders, shares about the faculty experience, and distributes information about OFE to the SOM.

Project Management & Facilitation of Service Improvements (~30% of time)
  • Independently and collaboratively manages projects, programs, and other initiatives at various stages (such as during development, piloting, implementation, evaluation, quality and continuous improvement, and ongoing administration).
  • Manages special operational improvement projects (may include projects in business services, faculty process administration, development and training, events, communication, and with databases and IT – among others).
  • Takes direction, proactively seeks clarification, focuses on solution development, and with advanced diplomatic skill, communicates "up, across and downstream" to address challenges to deliver on assignments and meet OFE objectives.

Executive & Operational Services (~10% of time)
  • Supports administrative leaders/executives on special projects, business services, and various operational and administrative needs (including everyday administration areas and initiatives at higher levels of complexity).
  • Moves effortlessly and with advanced ability and dexterity between diverse assignments that may cross-function and demand different skills, communications, and approaches to complete the assignment.
  • Leans, follows, and accurately and appropriately applies CU/SOM policies and processes across all areas of work, and holds project teams to the same high standards.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 4 or more years of experience in communications, marketing, branding, webpage management, e-communications, project management, team coordination, supporting administrative leaders, and/or other relevant areas.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business administration, public or health administration, or other relevant field(s), with emphasis in communications, marketing, and/or project management, or a master's in any relevant area(s) from an accredited college or university.
  • 6 or more years of relevant experience.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $65,610 to $83,456.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
