Position Description
Performs work to assist in the organization and implementation of projects and programs. Responsibilities include activities which require knowledge of departmental procedures. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
Duties include:
  • Assess all objects in the collection for 3D modeling. Culturally sensitive objects and any objects deemed too fragile will not be modeled.
  • Create 3D models of all appropriate objects at a quality sufficient for display on the Museum website and make the models available online.
  • Assess the current housing space available for the Davies Collection and the actual storage space needs of the collection.
  • Explore other possible options beyond the Ethnology Collections Room.
  • Use that assessment to develop a plan for the types and quantities of housing cabinetry for the collection.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Collections Manager Ethnology to obtain a quote from Delta Design for the new housing units.
  • Develop a new housing plan for the collection and, once the cabinets are installed, enact that plan with assistance from Division staff and students.
  • Assist Anthropology Division staff with the change-out of the Davies Gallery planned for Fall 2021, including completing Condition Reports of all objects being returned from exhibit.
  • Other duties as assigned, primarily pertaining to the Davies Collection.


Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent. No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current graduate student or a recent graduate of a Museum Science or Museum Studies Masters degree program.
  • Experience in the creation of 3D models.
  • Experience using best practices in collections management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent project management and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to a team approach.
