ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary: Colorado Mesa University is seeking applicants for a full-time Instructor of American Sign Language position in the Department of Languages, Literature, and Mass Communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching First-Year and Second-Year American Sign Language at the undergraduate level with a teaching load of 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall strength of the department by helping to recruit students and by contributing to professional organizations. This position requires the ability and willingness to develop a certificate program and to expand course offerings as well as to advise clubs, organizations, and activities that promote ASL learning. The successful candidate will bring a diverse worldview, both through life experience and education.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in ASL or experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching college level courses in ASL.
