ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Instructor of Spanish

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary: Instructor of Spanish, a full-time faculty member of the Department of Languages, Literature, and Mass Communication, primarily teaches introductory courses. Standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Teaching will generally be in person but may occasionally include online and hybrid teaching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach First-Year Spanish courses (FLAS 111, 112) and occasionally Second-Year Spanish courses (211)

Minimum Qualifications: MA in Spanish
Native or near-native Spanish abilities
Experience teaching college level introductory Spanish courses (two years preferred)

Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching
Effective communication and organizational skills



Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching through various modalities (in person, hybrid, online)
Willingness to teach in Winter and/or Summer sessions
Willingness to and/or experience in organizing cultural events for undergraduate students
