Description
This is a full-time position, located at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus.

Candidates must attach three digital design samples or a link to a digital portfolio to be considered for the position.

Under the supervision of the Design Center Coordinator, conceptualizes, designs and produces college communications and marketing materials that supports MATC's mission and vision; recruitment and retention; and fund-raising effort. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment, creativity and ingenuity to analyze and to resolve problems. Supervision received is general in nature using established procedures and processes. Works closely with other professionals in a team approach and is dependent upon direction for marketing needs. Communication is continuous between supervisor, teams and college stakeholders.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes and designs college branding and promotion, including but not limited to: collateral materials, information graphics, MATC digital and display communications, logo identity and development, publications, signage, displays and exhibits, internet, social media, college events, college multi-media presentations, and creative requested or assigned college marketing requests.
  • Maintains and upholds MATC branding specifications.
  • Manages individual project production schedules and is accountable for timeline project tasks and meeting deadlines, with the ability to change focus quickly in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Utilizes illustration, photography and digital imagery to create work that aligns with best industry practices
  • Actively assists student workers in the Design Center with training and instruction to apply professional skill sets consistent with career goals
  • Maintains work related tools and equipment, including MAC and PC computer, digital cameras, scanners, tablets, and other work related equipment.
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and other educational activities as required or assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the division.


Qualifications
Required Education: Associate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related design field.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or Visual Communications.

Required Experience: Four (4) years professional graphic design experience, with the capability to take the project from inception through final production.
Preferred Experience: Prefer more than four (4) years of relevant experience.

MAC platform with working knowledge of PC platform

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., carry, and push up to 20 lbs. and ability pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and a ladder and maintain balance.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear and speak.
  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: 50% of time spent sitting, 25% of time standing, and 25% of time walking.
