Position Information

Hiring Department: College of Nursing

Posting End Date: Open until filled.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00 pm, Flexibility is required on evenings and/or weekends.

FLSA status: exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Under minimal supervision, provides coordinating services, keeps official records, and executes administrative policies determined by or in conjunction with other officials, within area of assigned responsibility.

Essential Functions

Creates written content for web, brochures, and other communication channels as needed for the College of Nursing.

Oversees the planning, development, and production of graphics and electronic materials aimed at the recruitment and retention of College of Nursing students.

Ensures that all information is correct, has been vetted through proper channels and follows the University and Associated Press style guidelines.

Understands University and College of Nursing messaging and incorporates those messages across all communication channels.

Acts as a liaison between University Division of Marketing and Communications and College of Nursing for communication and marketing needs.

Coordinates projects among various stakeholders, manages multiple deadlines and maintains consistent quality standards.

Implements tactics to help partners achieve objectives and outcomes.

Assures that communication activities in specific College of Nursing departments integrate with overall College and University messaging and strategic goals.

Working with the College of Nursing Dean, creates a strategic communication and marketing plan for the College of Nursing. Annually evaluates progress and makes adjustments accordingly.

Works collaboratively with photographers, designers, webmasters, video and media relations team to disseminate information to internal and external audiences.

Assists College of Nursing staff with community and media relations activities, and special events as needed.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree

and

Experience: Three years of related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
