Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The School of Communication and Media offers a B.S. in Journalism, a B.S. in Media & Entertainment, a B.S. in Organizational & Professional Communication, a B.S. in Public Relations, a Master of Arts in Integrated Global Communication, and a Graduate Certificate in Digital & Social Media.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8000 degree-seeking students, the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest college at the university, prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the School of Communication & Media for the academic year 2022-2023. These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following at a minimum:
  • Teaching undergraduate courses to support our lower-division and upper-division courses in the broad fields of Journalism & Emerging Media, Media & Entertainment, Organizational & Professional Communication, and Public Relations
  • Common courses for part-time faculty include Human Communication; Public Speaking; Writing for Public Communication; Communication Law, Ethics, and Diversity; and Digital Media Production
  • Teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community

Part-time faculty are hired from the School's pool of applicants on a semester-by-semester basis. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned Master's or terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous college-level teaching experience
  • Relevant professional experience
  • Evidence of working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
