Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in Biology in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology for the academic year 2023 - 2024. These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibilities involve teaching undergraduate students in introductory and/or upper-level biology courses:
    • MCB focuses on the first semester of a 2-semester course sequence, called Principles of Biology I (lecture and laboratory, BIOL 1107 and 1107L).
    • MCB supports a number of KSU programs by teaching Genetics (lecture and laboratory, BIOL 3300 and 3300L), Microbiology (BIOL 3340 and 3340L), Cell Biology (BIOL 3410), Immunology (BIOL 4465), and other courses with cell and molecular related content.
  • An emphasis on active, inclusive, and experiential learning is important for engaging students in the learning process.


Required Qualifications

An earned Masters or Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in a biological science, or closely related science discipline, with coursework relevant to biology, genetics, cell biology, and/or microbiology is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A record of using evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices at the university level.
  • A record of teaching STEM and non-STEM majors.
  • A record of teaching general biology courses, introductory and upper-level microbiology (including immunology and related courses), genetics, and/or courses with cell and molecular related content.
  • A flexible schedule that can support teaching evenings.
