Description:
The Health, Human Performance and Recreation department (hhpr.robbins.baylor.edu/) in the Robbins College of Health and Human Services (robbins.baylor.edu) seeks applications for a part-time Temporary Lecturer position to provide educational consulting and subject matter expertise, with the potential to transition into an instructional role in a graduate online section of Pharmacology (MSMS 5350, 3 credit hours) for a M.S. Program in Medical Science. At least one section will be offered during the fall term of Academic Year 2024-2025 with the possibility of additional sections depending on program growth.

Teaching opportunities during other trimesters for other MSMS courses may be available depending on student demand.

This course is designed to help MSMS students focus on the basic principles of pharmacology and therapeutics in the context of medicine and biomedical science. Topics include the types and nomenclature of small molecule drugs and therapeutic biologics, drug-receptor interactions, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics and the basis of personalized medicine

Lecturers should develop educational strategies that incorporate student-centered learning activities for innovative lecture courses and promote a culture of discovery through excellence in teaching.


Qualifications:
Candidates applying to co-teach a Graduate Pharmacology class and must have a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, and appropriate licenses and certifications (or life experiences in the area of expertise). A clinical or terminal academic doctorate degree or required certification in a related field is needed to qualify for a part-time teaching position in other programs within HHPR Dept.
