Job Summary:

The CU Physical Therapy (PT) Program within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is seeking a dynamic leader (PT Administrator) to oversee the administrative activities for the residential and hybrid program. Reporting to the PM&R Vice Chair of Finance and Administration with a dotted line to the Associate Dean for Physical Therapy Education and Director of the CU PT Program, the Administrator partners closely with the CU PT Program Director to execute the goals and vision of the program to ensure student and faculty satisfaction and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget and Scholarship Management 30%
  • Creates and manages the $7M + tuition budget.
  • Oversees the tracking and disbursement of student scholarships.
  • Serve as a member of the PT Scholarship and Endowment Board
  • Prepare reports and analyses for the purpose of setting competitive tuition rates and reporting to accrediting bodies.

Staff Supervision and Management 15%
  • Supervision of 5.0 FTEs with indirect supervision of 4.0 FTEs.
  • Provide training and coaching to meet goals of staff.
  • Establish priorities for administrative personnel to meet needs of the program.

Program Operations 30%
  • Responsible for compliance of Program with state and university policies as well as accrediting organizations.
  • Work with SOM central services to manage program facilities and space, equipment, education support, IT and human resources
  • Develop and execute efficient operational processes and recommend improvements to administrative workflows.

Program development and project management (5%)
  • Assist with implementing plans for program expansion (hybrid)
  • Partner with faculty and other leaders to implement program improvements

Student Services (20%)
  • Oversee administrative tasks pertaining to admissions, recruitment, clinical rotations and student events

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings and other leadership obligations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Program Manager):
  • Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 4 years of administrative work experience within a healthcare or university setting. Additional relevant education (Master's degree) may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications (Program Manager):
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in health administration, business, public health, or related field
  • 5 years progressive administrative experience within a healthcare or university setting
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience

Minimum Qualifications (Manager):
  • Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of administrative work experience within a healthcare or university setting including 1 year of supervisory experience. Additional relevant education (Master's degree) may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications (Manager):
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in health administration, business, public health, or related field
  • 7 years progressive administrative experience within a healthcare or university setting
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students; experienced in the supervision of administrative and support staff personnel.
  • Effective communication/presentation skills and a proven track record of forming collaborative and effective working relationships with faculty, healthcare professionals and administrative staff.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

Program Manager: $70,551 - $89,741

Manager: $73,491 - $93,481

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
