Job Summary

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at CU Boulder is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join prof. Barth's team as a Postdoctoral research fellow. The successful candidate will work closely faculty members and graduate students on various research projects spanning the fields of psychology and neuroscience. Barth's lab is primarily focused on research in the electrophysiology and neurophysiology of sensory as well as the neural mechanisms controlling brain excitability in rat model, particularly as it applies to the treatment of human epilepsy. Main topics researched in this regard are Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Epilepsy, and Psychiatric disorders. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Assist the principal investigator with research projects.
  • Conduct and monitor tests and experiments, gather and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Evaluate research findings and report results.
  • Perform literature reviews and assist with data analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of research procedures and data.
  • Provide general support to faculty members and graduate students in the department.
  • Set up and maintain equipment.

What We Require

  • Doctoral degree in psychology, neuroscience, physiology or a related field
  • Previous research experience, particularly in experimental neuroscience, rat model of Epilepsy and Traumatic Brain Injury.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
