Position DescriptionThe Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Texas Tech University is seeking to fill a nine-month assistant professor of practice position in agribusiness. The person filling this position will be expected to administer the Master of Agribusiness (MAB) degree program, with an emphasis on the online component.The start date is September 1, 2024.

The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Texas Tech University is seeking to fill a nine-month assistant professor of practice position in agribusiness. The person filling this position will be expected to administer the Master of Agribusiness (MAB) degree program, with an emphasis on the online component. The start date is September 1, 2024.

Major/Essential Functions
Duties include the development and teaching of online courses, advising MAB (Master of Agribusiness) graduate students, developing contacts for student internships, recruiting students, academic program management, and advertising the program. Currently, the MAB degree program has 27 students enrolled with 14 fully online. The goal is to increase online enrollment as part of the overall enrollment in the program.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D., M.S., MAB or MBA in Agricultural and Applied Economics, Agribusiness, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience with the development and delivery of online courses is required.
Teaching experience, especially in online instruction.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

MAB or M.S. degree in an agricultural-related field
Understanding of the agricultural industry
Willingness to make industry connections
