Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
Establish, develop, and lead an internationally recognized and visionary research program in non-collider experimental particle physics that tackles the most pressing questions in neutrino physics, dark matter, dark energy, or similarly defined areas. Developing curricula and delivering course material. Participate in committee, departmental and faculty meetings.


Required Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in physics or closely related field, established an outstanding track record of significant external funding to support their research, and demonstrated excellent teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates are expected to continue garnering extramural funding to support their research for which detector R&D is a significant component. Service to the department, college, and university is also expected.
