Job Overview

The Program Coordinator for the MS in Global Health and the MS & PhD in Global Infectious Disease is responsible for building and maintaining the programs' learning communities through marketing, recruitment of applicants, support of current students, and providing faculty and administrative support.

They work in a matrix structure reporting to the Associate Director of Interdisciplinary Programs and the two faculty program directors and is a member of a team that collectively meets the needs of the 12 Interdisciplinary Studies Programs while having a specific program caseload.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Creating an equitable and diverse community
  • Marketing, including digital media, and recruiting prospective students
  • Providing student success support and academic affairs
  • Performing general administrative support including human resources
  • Processing expenses and tracking the budget
  • Supporting events management
  • Administering the day to day operations


Work Interactions

Reporting to the Associate Director of Interdisciplinary Programs, the Program Coordinator works closely with the faculty program directors in the day to day operation and all functional areas within the Graduate School Dean's Office. In

They work closely with faculty, prospective students, students, alumni, vendors/suppliers, industry connections, and many other audiences; and liaises internally with University offices such as Graduate Admissions, University Registrar, Office of Global Services, Main Campus Office of Academic Appointments, Student Financial Services and Financial Affairs and other academic units.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience managing multiple projects with multiple constituents and excellent time management
  • Commitment to student success as part of an equitable and diverse community
  • Exceptional communication skills in customer services, problem-solving, and mediation
  • Self-motivated; independent, organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new technology quickly
  • Understanding of appropriate and confidential communication, file management, and storage
