Position Summary
This post-graduate residency is a training program designed to provide the Resident/Instructor with a set of professional experiences that will enable them to develop and sharpen their patient care and clinical skills, promote independent thinking, deliver pharmacist services in an inpatient or outpatient healthcare settings, conduct research and scholarship, and complete a teaching certificate.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.


Essential Functions
The Resident/Instructor is responsible for providing clinical services in a variety of practice settings as well as completing a teaching certificate program. In addition, the Resident/Instructor attends department and school faculty meetings, presents three hours of didactic lectures, assists with pharmacotherapy labs, completes at least one major research project, submits at least one manuscript for publication, and attends ALCALDE.

The Resident/Instructor presents at continuing education seminars and two formal presentations in the Controversies in Clinical Therapeutics seminar. The Resident/Instructor performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree


Required Work Experience
-Adequate number and type of clinical rotations; prior work in pharmacy settings;

-Adequate clinical rotations with diverse patient care experience


Preferred Qualifications


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Eligible for Pharmacy licensure in Texas.


Work Hours
-40 hours per week; -Variable schedule
