Salary: $55,000 annually

A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Under minimal supervision, plays a key role in the identification, attraction, and selection of top talent for the University of Texas at El Paso. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Sr. Talent Acquisition specialist has functional knowledge and acts as a consultant and advisor to the hiring manager and the search committee to ensure the attraction and selection of qualified candidates for staff positions.

Essential Functions

Reports and tracks key recruitment operational and performance metrics and analytics.

Leads a group of talent acquisition specialist to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and is committed to developing pools of highly-qualified applicants, promoting a great candidate experience, supporting our committees and hiring managers, and continuously improving.

Participates in developing goals, objectives and systems for respective area and HR Services Department.

Manage and review job descriptions and inspect candidate profiles to identify matches for open opportunities.

Assists in providing excellent consultative skills and developing strong, collaborative relationships across multiple departments and levels.

Build solid recruitment processes by partnering with hiring managers to ensure understanding and use of the applicant tracking system.

Track and monitor positions through applicant tracking system - Peoplesoft and other resources.

Assist hiring managers with managing job requisitions and update or edit as necessary to ensure accurate source data for posting.

Execute and maintain talent acquisition processes and related job aids, tools, and communications.

Use various methods to recruit and network with potential candidates including job boards, social media platforms, networking events and job fairs.

Evaluates and analyzes reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, ideas, systems, processes, policies, forms, letters and procedures to effect continual improvement and efficiency of department and services provided.

Ensure alignment with compensation structure for all positions.

Improves customer service to departments and divisions within the University as well as for all faculty, staff and students in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and University policies.

Maintains and works closely with respective vendors to improve processes and investigates issues and concerns and provide appropriate information as needed.

Provides information about the department and the University to applicants, faculty, staff and students, including coordination and participation in local, university, state, professional and UT System functions.

Maintains high level of proficiency and understanding of respective HR related computer systems, databases and other automated systems in current use and participates in rollout of future enhancements and conversions.

Responds to inquiries from various federal, state and governmental agencies for respective area.

May coordinate, create or lead administrative staff meetings, other meetings and seminars, and annual campus functions such as retirement dinner, convocation, health fairs and job fairs.

Coordinates, supervises and/or leads other HR Services staff in assignment of duties and projects. May assume acting Assistant or Associate Director role in their absence.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university within area of assigned responsibility

and

Experience: Five (5) years' experience in a Human Resources related function (public or private sector). Within those five years, experience in Recruitment/Talent acquisition; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Skilled in talent assessment and selection techniques.

Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships and work collaboratively and professionally with others to meet shared objectives.

Thorough working knowledge of current best practices and trends within recruiting and ability to apply knowledge to advance defined goals and outcomes.

Skilled at producing work product on time and with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.

Knowledge of various sourcing technologies to develop a pool of versatile candidates is preferred.

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills operating within strict deadlines; self-starter and team contributor.
