Job Summary / Basic Function
Job Summary: The Social Media Specialist is responsible for crafting compelling multimedia content that attracts, engages, and converts audiences. Social Media Specialist is in charge of conveying the college's key messages, in a consistent voice, across a variety of content types and channels to increase social media engagement, recruitment, enrollment campaigns and other marketing initiatives.

Major Essential Job Functions:
  • Work with team and the Creative Marketing Manager to write content for a variety of formats including blog articles, press releases, video, emails, web pages, social media, etc.
  • Create and manage social media calendar for all platforms.
  • Create and design multimedia collateral for social media using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
  • Create new and innovative ways to engage audience.
  • Serve as college photographer, attending events on and off campus.
  • Seek to keep up-to-date with current culture, trends, and creative ideas.
  • Work in collaboration with design partners to work conceptually from beginning stages to final execution.
  • Work in collaboration on special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain and drive an ever-evolving tone/brand voice.
  • Create informative, on-brand and engaging copy.

    Secondary Essential Job Functions:
  • Assists in the collection, processing, and tracking of information to promote the LIT brand.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to needs of the Institute.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Minimum Education Required: Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, or English related field or equivalent experience

    Minimum Experience Required:
    -Minimum 3 5 years experience copyrighting.
    -Minimum 3 5 years in Social Media Management
    -One to three years experience of Adobe Creative Cloud

    Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, staff, faculty, business and industry officials, and the general public
    Demonstrate a strong Portfolio of big ideas and persuasive writing skills.
    Experience collaborating with multiple organizations and stakeholders.
    Demonstrate a strong grasp of the AP writing style.
    Ability to work collaboratively in a team, while also working well independently.
    Experience writing brand related copy.
    Videography and or photography experience.
    Ability to function and adapt well in a fast-paced environment.
    Proven ability writing in short and long form styles.
    Outstanding interpersonal skills
    Demonstrate exceptional time management and organization skills.
    Travel as required
