Position Description
Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represent the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions

Serve as the principal advisor to the Director, Lubbock Lake Landmark on heritage management priorities.
Formulate, update, and provide training on all areas of Landmark operations.
Plan and execute all heritage management activities, including facilities improvements (structures, grounds, and vehicles).
Ensure that all operations adhere to heritage standards and best practices and conform to the unique requirements of a preserve and research institution.
Provide logistical support to the educational and research activities of the Landmark.
Supervise operations staff and operations volunteers.
Serve as the Landmark Building Emergency Manager.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of financial expenditures for operations.
Manage the Landmark Store, including financial transactions and documentation, stock selection and inventory, procedures, and training of shop volunteers.
Supervise the collection of and manage accurate records of visitor statistics.
Interact with the public and represent the Landmark through personal and electronic methods.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in museum or heritage studies or closely related fields plus three years supervisory experience in a heritage setting.
