Job Summary

This position serves as the primary contact for the following University of Colorado's varsity sport programs: soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, tennis and lacrosse; assist on other sport duties as assigned. Primary contact responsible for creating in-game video board shows, special projects for campus, external community events and serving as the liaison between BuffVision and the aforementioned sport programs and departments. Mentor student employees to work on our production crew. Evaluate and implement new technologies and create efficient workflows for our productions. Participate in weekly operations meetings with marketing, social media and sales. The position is responsible for conducting all activities in compliance with conference, NCAA and University rules and regulations and is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, and affiliated conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Game Day/In-Game Content Creation:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce engaging in-game content for various sports, including Soccer (SOC), Volleyball (VB), Women's Basketball (WBB), and Lacrosse (LAX).
  • Serve as producer/director for home game video board shows.
  • Develop visually compelling and dynamic video elements that resonate with a diverse audience and enhance the overall fan experience.
  • Direct all in-game board shows for 80+ events annually, covering a wide range of sports.
  • Create visually stunning and entertaining board shows that captivate the audience and contribute to the overall atmosphere of the events.
Production/Special Projects:Assist in special projects across the campus, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinating 10-15 requested shoots and live-streams in conjunction with commencement and the chancellor's office.
  • Providing creative input and technical support for various campus-wide initiatives.
  • Strategically plan to meet future needs of video operations.
  • Support live and recorded events organized by the Athletic Department, such as the annual Academic Breakfast, Inclusive Sports Summit, CUSPYS, Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, and Kickoff Luncheon.
  • Ensure the seamless execution of video elements, enhancing the quality and impact of these events.
  • Contribute to daily production of video content for 9 University of Colorado HD LED video screens.
  • Production includes: graphics, video editing, post-production, animation and archiving.
Other duties:
  • Work with the Athletic Sports Video Department, the Information Technology Services Department, the School of Journalism and the Compliance Department.
  • Assists in the supervision of student, temporary employees and professional service contractors, including recruitment, development, and mentorship of students. This includes on-air announcer employees that work in control rooms, and employees that work on-site in venues.
  • Recruit and train student employees as well as a freelance pool of workers.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies for all aspects of production within BuffVision including pre-production and LIVE productions.




What We Can Offer

  • Starting salary range is $60,000 - $65,000.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Video Editing, Multimedia, or related field.
  • One year experience in video production, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and motion graphics tools.
  • Equivalent combination of education and skill may substitute. Service as a full-time graduate assistant or intern acceptable toward experience.


What You Will Need

  • Standard skills in MS Word, Excel, In-Design, Photoshop and other typical applications.
  • Ability to create and maintain social content calendars and communicate/collaborate with cross functional groups to execute responsibilities.
  • Skills and experience in social media management for a sports organization.
  • Experience with creating graphics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
